Emilia Tunnels Windows Install Guide

Step-by-Step Setup

This guide shows how to install Emilia Tunnels on a Windows computer. The process usually takes 3 to 5 minutes.

Target audience: restaurant managers, field operators, and on-site support staff. No terminal or programming knowledge is required.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • A Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer.
  • Internet access.
  • Permission to approve Windows security or administrator prompts.
  • The Emilia Tunnels download link provided by EmiliaVision.

Use only the official EmiliaVision link

If you did not receive the download link from EmiliaVision, stop and contact support before installing.


Step 1: Download the Zip File

  1. Open the download link provided by EmiliaVision.
  2. Wait until the .zip file finishes downloading.

Do not run files from inside the zip

Windows may show the zip as a folder, but you must extract it first. The installer should be run from the extracted folder.


Step 2: Extract the Zip File

  1. Open the Downloads folder.
  2. Right-click the Emilia Tunnels .zip file.
  3. Click Extract All....

  1. Keep the default destination folder.
  2. Click Extract.

Step 3: Run the Installer as Administrator

After extraction, Windows opens the extracted folder. You should see these files:

  • emilia-tunnels.exe
  • install-emilia-tunnels.cmd
  • uninstall-emilia-tunnels.cmd
  • README.md

Right-click install-emilia-tunnels.cmd and choose Run as administrator.

Run the .cmd installer as administrator

Do not open emilia-tunnels.exe. The correct file for installation is install-emilia-tunnels.cmd; right-click it and choose Run as administrator.


Step 4: Accept Windows Prompts

Windows may ask for confirmation before running the installer. Click Run or Yes if the file came from the EmiliaVision link.

If you are unsure, stop

If the file did not come from EmiliaVision, or if the warning looks unexpected, cancel and contact EmiliaVision support.


Step 5: Wait for the Installer to Finish

The installer window shows progress while Emilia Tunnels is installed and started.

When installation succeeds, the window may close automatically. This is expected.

After this step, Emilia Tunnels runs in the background. You do not need to keep the installer folder open.


Step 6: Open the Tray Menu

Look for the Emilia icon in the Windows tray area near the clock. If you do not see it immediately, click the small arrow to show hidden icons.

The tray menu has two options:

Option Use it for
Status... Check whether Emilia Tunnels is installed and waiting for setup.
Configure location hint... Add the restaurant name and branch or mall/location so EmiliaVision knows which install this is.

Step 7: Add a Location Hint

Click Configure location hint....

In the first field, write the restaurant name and the branch, mall, city, or location. Examples:

  • McDonald's - Mall X - Miami, US
  • Burger King - Airport Terminal 2 - Orlando, US
  • KFC - Downtown Plaza - Austin, US

In the second field, you may add an optional contact name, phone, or email.

Click Save / Guardar.

Keep the hint simple

The location hint helps EmiliaVision support match this computer to the correct restaurant and branch. Include the restaurant name plus a location such as mall, branch, neighborhood, city, or country.


What Happens Next

Keep the computer turned on and connected to the internet. EmiliaVision support will complete any remaining setup remotely.

The tray status may say that setup is pending or waiting. That is normal during the first installation.


Uninstall Emilia Tunnels

Only uninstall Emilia Tunnels if EmiliaVision support asks you to do so.

  1. Open the extracted Emilia Tunnels folder.
  2. Right-click uninstall-emilia-tunnels.cmd and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Accept the Windows security or administrator prompt.
  4. Wait for the window to finish and close.

The uninstaller stops Emilia Tunnels, removes the tray icon startup entry, removes installed files, and deletes local setup information.


Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
Windows asks how to open the file Extract the zip first, then run install-emilia-tunnels.cmd from the extracted folder.
You do not see install-emilia-tunnels.cmd Make sure you opened the extracted folder, not the zip preview.
Windows asks for administrator permission Click Yes. This is required to install the Windows background service.
The installer window closes This is expected when installation succeeds. Emilia Tunnels continues running in the background.
You do not see the tray icon Click the hidden-icons arrow near the Windows clock, or restart Windows.
Status says setup is pending or waiting Keep the computer online and contact EmiliaVision support.
Antivirus or SmartScreen shows a warning Continue only if the file came from EmiliaVision. If unsure, cancel and contact support.
The computer has no internet connection Connect to the internet and run the installer again.
